You’ve set up your webinar. You have great content and slides that will keep your audience engage, but do you have an audience?

Webinars are a great way to get content out to your customers. It provides management with an easy and cheap way to coach their employees and still offer training reinforcement. However, people are not just going to come to you asking to sign up. Webinars work the same way any other type of content-based material works: you have to go to the customer. And just as with other material, you can use the Internet and it’s multiple media bases to reach them.

    Facebook
With the largest social media numbers, Facebook is a great outlet to promote your material. If you don’t have a page for yourself or your company, then you are behind. When you create a page for yourself, the site allows you to post information about your product or service and upcoming events. Create an event page and invite your friends to attend. The event page will keep track of people that say yes, and it allows for comments or questions about the webinar.

    Twitter
When you have followers, they can see any status update that you post. So, create a status and attach a link to your event. You can shorten the link by transforming it into a bitly (simply go to bit.ly). By shortening your link, you can add more information about the webinar. Make sure that you have built up a great relationship with your followers because then they will be more likely to re-tweet your event. Non-customers will see your content as more credible if their friends are the ones encouraging them to sign-up.

    LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a great way to get business professionals involved. Join groups and become active in them. Once you have made a great reputation for yourself, then start to post your webinars and events. Join groups that pertain to what you will be talking about. People can click on the promotions link for any group to find a webinar that will suit their business.

    Websites
There are websites that will post your material and possibly promote it. One great website is webinarlistings.com. The page will put your upcoming webinar up on their calendar. Find sites that will promote your material, and also, create press releases that you can publish on sites such as pitchengine.com. All these websites will help get your event information out to the public.
