    Engage with Employees

Companies know that engaging with their customers will give them an advantage in the long run, but what about engaging with your employees? Does a typical work day for you include coming in, sitting down at your desk to immediately begin the day and then leaving once the clock hits five? Or do you enter an upbeat atmosphere where everyone interacts with one another, and the day just seems to fly by?

If you want to keep employees happy and morale up, your business environment should lean more towards the second scenario. Thomas Petzinger of the Wall Street Journal found “that efficiency is intrinsic; that people are naturally productive; that when inspired with vision, equipped with the right tools, and guided by information about their performance, people will build on each other's actions to a more efficient result than any single brain could design.” Nobody wants to sit day-in and day-out at the same desk with only work to focus on. Managers should take control and engage with their inside sales team to encourage better attitudes.

Here are some tips to engaging with employees:

    1.    Host weekly contests.
    2.    Have a company outing once a month or every few months.
    3.    Provide lunch and encourage employees to eat together.
    4.    Encourage working in teams. Give employees a task and have them work together to come up with the best solution.
    5.    Don’t control. Let employees explore their creative side and take the initiative.

In an environment where people can be themselves and challenge themselves, they are more likely to thrive and enjoy the work that they do. So, if you want to see your sales progress, encourage employee engagement and give them the freedom to work.
