    You Cannot Coach What You Cannot Describe

    I hear stuff like this all the time when I ask what does the team or that employee need to improve:

    "Really everything like communication"

    "Just general selling skills"

    "Product knowledge"

     

    These are two generic and we need to be really specific when coaching. If a fitness instructor came up to you in a gym and asked what are you focusing on and you replied "The whole body" how could they even begin to help you? Here is a brief overview that could really help you focus on specific element of performance to successfully coach an employee or team:
