First here is the serious version: People get up to go to work to do their jobs. Very few people seek change to better themselves; therefore, its an opportunity as leaders to bring the best our of our people. Employees typically do not seek change or ways to improve themselves but the ones that do always stand out.

Second Version: An employee walks  into her boss's office saids " Charlie I am really stagnant in my skill set and if time permits could you throw some really uncomfortable change at me to get me out of my comfort zone?"

Please tell me you are laughing? Coaching occurs when we are engaged and when we are NOT engaged. if we are not engaged and coaching we are telling our employees we do not care. Yes, I know its not your or my intention but thats the perception risk we assume when we are not coaching proactively!
