Coaching is not about some fad we all have to do as leaders, rather studies show if we are engaged with our employees they will yield a greater discretionary effort! WOW this is powerful but here's the thing. Managers don't understand what being engaged really is. Its not a meeting where they dictate and do all the talking, rather its about asking, listening, and inspiring staff to go beyond what they even see in themselves. Coaching is about getting more effort out of people and creating enjoyment as the exhibit more effort.
